<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDIPZ SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE N0. 3644, COMMONLY
<br />KNOWN AS THE PARKING METER ORDINANCE, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON
<br />COUNCIL ON JUNE 7,,1948.
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion
<br />that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for Public Hearing on April 11th, 1949, at
<br />8 :00 P.M. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES
<br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 1949, AND REPEALING
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 3593, PASSED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL ON MARCH 31, 1947- AND
<br />APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
<br />THE SUM OF $7,570972 FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES OF THE FOLLOWING BUDGETARY
<br />ITEMS IN THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1949,
<br />TO -WIT: ACCOUNT N0. A -11, SALARY, OFFICE OF MAYOR, $1,666.67; ACCOUNT NO-
<br />B-11, SALARY, OFFICE OF CONTROLLER, $1,000.00; ACCOUNT NO. C,•11, SALARY,

<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a
<br />motion that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for Publid Hearing on April 11th, 1949,
<br />at 8:00 P *M. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />RESOLUTION
<br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend is surrounded by ;States and communities operating on Day -light Saving Time,•;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, it is to a disadvantage to South Bend commerce and industry for the City to operate during summer
<br />months under Standard Time; therefore
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the `bst Side Democratic and Civic Club, Inc. at a meeting held on March 10, 1949, that
<br />the membership favors Day -light Saving Time; and
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Secretary of the Club so inform the Honorable Mayor George A.
<br />Schock, and the Common Council of the City of South Bend

<br />Councilman Niezgodski made.a motion that the resolution be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Tellson
<br />seconded the notion. Motion carried.
<br />RESOLUTION
<br />WHEREAS, in the Budget of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1949, it was anticipated that the
<br />amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) would be transferred from the City Water Works of said City
<br />to the General blind of said City, and
<br />WHEREAS, in the Budget, as finally passed and approved, such item was included and anticipated;
<br />NOWT, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that:
<br />1. The proper officers of the City Water Works of South Bend, Indiana, be, and the same are, hereby
<br />authorized and directed to transfer forthwith, the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) from and
<br />out of the Hinds of said Water Works to the General Fund of the City of South Bend.
<br />2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council
<br />and its approval by the Mayor.

<br />RESOLUTION
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that no further need exists in this
<br />area for the type of housing located upon the track of land leased by the City of South Bend, Indiana, from
<br />the Bendix Aviation Corporation on December 19, 1945, and which land is known and described as Lots numbered
<br />ninety -one (91) to one hundred sixty -one (161) both inclusive in Westchester Second Unit, a subs- division
<br />within the City of South Bend, Indiana.
