Be it remembered-that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chambers, City Hall, July 26th, 1948, at 8:20 P.M., with all members present. President Niezgodski <br />presided, The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />PETITION <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />and City Clerk July 80 1948 <br />Gentlemen: <br />We the undersigned property owners of Lots 94 and 95, Hartman do Miller Addition, South Bend Ave., petition <br />your honorable body to rezone from Class B, Res. Mot ion •carried. <br />PETITION <br />To the Honorable Board of Public Works and Safety <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />We the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to eliminate the smoke nuisance and traffic <br />hazard caused by the South Bend Smelting & Refining Co., 1610 Circle Ave. <br />(44 Signers) <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the petition be referred to the Board of Public Works and Safety. Councilman <br />Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE VE OLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: July 26, 1948 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An ordinance appropriating from the General Street an.d Traffic <br />Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana, of the following amount to the following indicated account of the 1948 <br />budget: Street Department, S -53, Refunds, Awards and Indemnities, $2,000.00, and declaring an extraordinary <br />emergency. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that-in their opinion this ordinance shall be referred <br />to the Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY Co KORPAL, Chairman <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WUOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />July 26, 1948 <br />Your Committee of the Thole to whom was referred "An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2331, commonly known as <br />the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be referred <br />to the Council favorably as amended. <br />STANLEY C.
