REGUTAR MEETING JULY 12TH, 1948 _ <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3649 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $2200040 FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER <br />58 -B, BUILDING CONTINGENT FUND, OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AND SAFETY TO ACCOUNT NUMBER K -223, HEAT, OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY; AND THE SUM OF $15,750.00 FROM ACCOUNT <br />NUMBER Q -11, SALARIES, FIRE DEPARTMENT, TO ACCOUNT NUMBER Q -724, <br />MOTOR EQU MIENP, FIRE DEPARTMENT; AID THE SUM-OF $100.00 FROM <br />ACCOUNT NUMBER Z -216, TRAVELING EXPENSES, POLICE PENSION FUND, TO <br />ACCOUNT NUMBER Z -36, OFFICE SUPPLIES AND PRINTING RECORDS, POLICE <br />PENSION FUND, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />This ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Kemper). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3650 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $1680.00 FROM BUDGETARY ACCOUNT 7119 <br />PROPERTIES, BUILDING AND FIXTURES, THE PARK DEPARTMENT Or^ THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1948; <br />APPROPRIATING SAID SUMS OF MONEY FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES OF <br />BUDGETARY ACCOUNT 261, SERVICES CONTRACTURAL, THE PARK DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />This,ordina .tee was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Kemper). <br />MOT IONS <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the Clerk notify the Mayor that in the prepare +.ion of the 1949 budget he <br />provide a -sum sufficient to permit the purchase and installation of an amplifying system in the Council Chamber, . <br />Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that Mr. William Qualls, Superintendent of the City Electrical Department, be <br />contacted and see what is holding up the petitions for street lights at the following locations: California and <br />Adams, Lindsey and Oashing, Napier and ?Meade, Huey and Linden, Olive and Bertrand; also report on the condition <br />of the street light put up about three years ago on Prast Blvd. at the intersection of alley. Councilman Glass <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />The Ordinance Committee -was notified to report to the Council on August 23rd regarding the condition.of railroad <br />crossings in various sections of the.city. <br />There being no further business, Council adjourned at 10 :50 P.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK <br />APPROVED: <br />
