ING <br />REPORT OF THE CU VWITTEE OF THE iFdO.LE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />JULY 12TH, 1948 <br />July 12, 1948 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance transferring the sum of $2,000.00 from Account <br />Number 58 -B, Building Contingent Fund, Office of the Board of Public Works and Safety to Account Number H -223, <br />Heat, Office of the Boardof Public forks and Safety; and the sum of $15,750.00 from Account Number Q -11, Salaries, <br />Tire Department, to Account Number Q -724, Motor Equipment, Fire Department; and the sum of $100.00 from Account <br />Number Z -216, Traveling Expenses, Police Pension Fund, to Account Number Z -36, Office Supplies and Printing <br />Records, Police Pension Fund, and declaring an extraordinary emergency. <br />Respectfully report that they examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be referred to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY C. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COWIITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: July 12, 1948 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance transferring $1680.00 from Budgetary Account 711, <br />Properties, Building and Fixtures, the Park Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the calendar year <br />1948: appropriating said sums of money for the uses and purposes nf'budgetary account 261, services contractural, <br />the Park Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana; declaring an emergency. <br />Respectfully report that they have - examined the matter and that in their opinica this ordinance shall be referred <br />to the Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY C. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />July 12, 1948 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance changing Indiana Avenue from a street or avenue <br />to a boulevard and giving the care and control thereof to the Board of Park Commissioners of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be referred <br />to the Ordinance Committee to work in conjunction smith the City Engineer, City Attorney, Traffic Engineer and the <br />Park Board for further study and consideration and report back to the Council on August 9th; also that the Traffic <br />Engineer place signs on Indiana Avenue in regard to "No inter -city trucks" and place speed limit on ' trucks* <br />;Councilman Erler made a motion that the report be accepted. <br />carried. <br />STANLEY C. Motion <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL STREET AND <br />TRAFFIC FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, OF THE <br />FOLLOWING AMOUNT TO THE FOLLOWING INDICATED ACCOUNT OF <br />THE 1948 BUDGET: STREET DEPARTMENT, S -53, REFUNDS, <br />AWARDS AND INDEMNITIES, $2,000.009 AND DECLARING AN <br />EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />This ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Tellson made a motion that the ordinance be <br />referred to the Committee of the Whole for Public Hearing on July 26th, 1948, at 8:00 P.M. Councilman Korpal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried.- <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN <br />TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (BELLEVILLE <br />UNIT A PROPOSED) <br />This ordinance was given first and second reading on June 28th. Councilman Erler made a motion that the ordinance <br />be referred to the Committee of the Whole for Public Hearing on July 26th, 1948, at 8:00 P.M. Councilman Korpal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3648 <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $300.00 FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER <br />G -132, ABSTRACTING, OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY, TO ACCOUNT NUMBER <br />G -11, SALARY OF CLERK, OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY; AND THE SUM OF <br />$500.00 FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 58 -B, BUILDING CONTINGENT FUND, OFFICE <br />OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, TO ACCOUNT NUMBER A -725, <br />OFFICE EQUIPMENT, OFFICE OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, <br />AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />This ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - l absent (Kemper). <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2331, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONIhr, <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />This ordinance was given first and second reading.
