President Niezgodski <br />presided at the meeting. the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />PETITION <br />To the Common Council <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />April 2, 1948 <br />A petition of Mrs. Anne Phillips and others filed January 13, 1948, for change of zoning of a large area in <br />LaSalle Park Addition has been amended by a petition of Guy Nesbit, et al. for the rezoning of a lesser area <br />as described in the accompanying amendment to petition and as shown on the attached map. <br />This amended petition was considered by the City Plan Commission at their regular meeting April 1st, 19480 <br />The City Plan Commission recommended that the change be made for the area described in the amended petition and <br />that the change be made to "C" Commercial and "D" Height and Area District. <br />D. Moomaw, <br />Seely. <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that the petition be referred back to the City Plan Commission for publication. <br />,Councilman Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />To the Honorable City Council <br />for 'the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />The undersigned, being residents and free - holders, and residing on or near West Indiana Avenue, respectfully <br />petition your Honorable Body, that Indiana Avenue, between Olive Street and Walnut Street be declared a <br />boulevard, and that all trucks other than light delivery trucks, be prohibited from using such section of <br />Indiana avenue.` <br />(108 Signers) <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that the petition be referred to the Streets and Alleys Committee. Councilman <br />Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />To the Honorable Board of Public Works and Safety <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />We the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to change the zoning from Residential to <br />Commercial Mishawaka Avenue, 25th St. to 26th St., South side of Mishawaka Avenue, from "B" use and "A" Height <br />and'Area District to "C" Commercial and "E" Height and Area District* <br />(4 Signers) <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Korpal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />A Series of Petition to the <br />City Council of South Bend, Indiana <br />April 26,-1948 <br />These petitions protest a proposed change in the zoning of Lots 1, 2 and 3,.John Adams lst Addition, from their <br />present "B" (Residential) classification to "D" (Light Industrial). Said lots being at the northeast corner of <br />South Esther and Ruskin Streets in an area of fine homes. <br />(270 Signers) <br />Councilman Kemper made a motion that the petition be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Korpal seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common `Council of the City of South Bend: April 26, 1948 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2331 (as amended) commonly <br />knosrn as the zoning ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported <br />favorable as amended. <br />STANLEY C.
