Councilmen Bishop seconded the motion. E '.ITH. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that this Ordinance be held for further study by the Councilmen, <br />until the, next meeting of the Council. Councilman Heideman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2331 (As Amended) COiZIONLY <br />KNO ?,iN AS THE 40NING ORDIK.0CFS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDI�iNA. <br />(Limitinf� the height of tanks or' containers v. ,herein inflammable <br />solids, :liquids or gases are stored to 175 ft.) <br />Councilman Mjirocha made a motion that the Council concur with the report pf the Ordinance Committee and <br />table this Ordinance. Councilman: Neizgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ordinance tabled. <br />PESOLUTIOItiT <br />tl- THEREAS, some two or more years ago 'petitions were filed with the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />requesting street lights at 30th and Hastings and 24th and Hastings Streets; And <br />liT-I RE'AS, said petitions were referred to the Board of Public ;'Torks and Safety, of the City of South Bend, <br />with a request from the Council, that the said Board of Public 7iorks and Safety, report back to the <br />Council at the next regular meeting of the Council, as to their findings; And, <br />77HERE :S, shortly thereafter the Board of Public '`works and Safety, reported that a street light had been <br />ordered installed at 30th and ;castings, but to date'no light has been installed and no report has been <br />forth- coming dh the 24th and Hastings Streets light, even though repeated requests have been made for a <br />report on these petitions. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, that the Board of Public <br />Works and Safety, be requested to take immediate steps to secure the installation of street lights at 30th <br />and Hastin"s and at 24th and Hastings Streets. <br />This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the CoTw.on Council and <br />approval by the `Mayor. <br />MELTON 0. BRANNAN <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Resolution be adopted and that 4000 lumen lights be installed. <br />Counci Iran Niezgodski seconded the motion. motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />7arEREAS, The City of South Bend, is approaching the close of its fiscal years; And, <br />:WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous <br />and complicated accounts; And, <br />7EIR EAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified when possible, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />SECTION 1. That all employees of the City be paid their salaries in full for the month of December on the <br />15th day of said month. <br />SECTION 11. The Controller of the City of South Bend, is hereby authorized to make said salary payments <br />upon said date. <br />SECTION 111. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common <br />Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Dated this 8th day of December, 1947. <br />J. bV.
