REGULAR MEETING- CONTINUED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3621 <br />SEPTEMBER 22nd, 1947 <br />477 <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THAT AN APPRAISAL <br />BE MADE OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED REAL ESTATE OWED BY THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICERS OF <br />THE CITY TO EXECUTE A DEED THEREFOR <br />The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Mirocha made a motion for suspension of <br />Rules. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a. roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - <br />1 absent (McCarthy). <br />The Ordinance was given Third Reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent <br />(McCarthy) <br />RESOLUTION <br />i'IAEREAS, <br />George <br />F. Hull, who departed <br />this life Septembe 11, 1947, was for almost twenty -six <br />years a member <br />of the <br />Common Council of'the <br />City of South Bend, serving therein longer than any other <br />person in this <br />City's <br />history, and <br />VFHEREAS, during all of that time he faithfully devoted himself to the welfare of his community, <br />NOW Th MEFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend that his long and <br />faithful service be commended to this City as exemplifying the highest traditions of public service and <br />that the members of his family have the condolence of the Common Council. <br />Councilman Mirocha made a motion that the resolution be adopted and that a copy be sent to the family <br />of George F. Hull. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Richardson made a motion that due to the absence of one member of the Common Council, that <br />the Mayor be asked to call a Special Meeting of the Council at his discretion in regard to the vacancy <br />that exsists through the death of Cdr. Hull. Councilman Mirocha seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business, Council adjourned at 8 :05 P.M. <br />ATTEST: APPROVED: <br />CLERK PRESIDENT <br />
