REGULAR MEETING- CONTINUED ORDINANCE NO. 3621 SEPTEMBER 22nd, 1947 477 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THAT AN APPRAISAL BE MADE OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED REAL ESTATE OWED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICERS OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A DEED THEREFOR The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Mirocha made a motion for suspension of Rules. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a. roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (McCarthy). The Ordinance was given Third Reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (McCarthy) RESOLUTION i'IAEREAS, George F. Hull, who departed this life Septembe 11, 1947, was for almost twenty -six years a member of the Common Council of'the City of South Bend, serving therein longer than any other person in this City's history, and VFHEREAS, during all of that time he faithfully devoted himself to the welfare of his community, NOW Th MEFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend that his long and faithful service be commended to this City as exemplifying the highest traditions of public service and that the members of his family have the condolence of the Common Council. Councilman Mirocha made a motion that the resolution be adopted and that a copy be sent to the family of George F. Hull. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Richardson made a motion that due to the absence of one member of the Common Council, that the Mayor be asked to call a Special Meeting of the Council at his discretion in regard to the vacancy that exsists through the death of Cdr. Hull. Councilman Mirocha seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business, Council adjourned at 8 :05 P.M. ATTEST: APPROVED: CLERK PRESIDENT
