Be it remembered-that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Regular Session in the <br />Council Chambers, City Hall, . April 14th, 1947, at 7 :35 P.M., with all members present except Councilman <br />Hull and McCarthy. President Brannan presided. The reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting was-.waived, <br />PETITION: <br />PETITION FOR THE RECLASSIFICATION OF REAL ESTATE AND <br />AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, 1EICH.SAID ORDINANCE IS MORE PARTICULARLY <br />KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 2331. <br />TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF SOUTEi BEND, INDIANA: <br />The undersigned, Drewrys Limited U.S.A. Inc. , an Indiana-corporation, being the owner of the following <br />described real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County., Indiana, to -wit: <br />Beginning at a point that -is 480 feet East of the'West <br />boundary line of Section No 2., Township 37 North, Range 2" <br />East and 400 feet South of the South Line of Elwood Avenue; <br />thence East on a line parallel with the South line of said <br />Ellwood Avenue a distance of 495 feet; thence South on a <br />line parallel with the West boundary line of said Section No, 20 <br />Township.37 North,: Range No, 2 East a distance of 321 feet; thence <br />West on a line parallel with-the South Line of said Elwood Avenue, <br />a distance of 495 feet; thence North to the place of beginnings <br />hereby respectfully petitions that their property be rezoned as a Class D. light industrial district and as <br />Class F height and area district so that said real estate will.be adaptable for the uses permitted by and <br />under -said use and height and area classification and subject to the restrictions pertaining thereto. <br />The undersigned desires and intemds to utilize said property, for purposes consistent with the classification <br />herein petitioned for. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned has hereunto set its hand and seal by its duly authorized officers this <br />22nd day of February, 1947. <br />(Signed) DRMYS LIMITED U.S.A. Motion carried. <br />PETITION:, <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF PUBLIC VORKS AND SAFETY April 9th, 1947, <br />OF 1HE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to instal-l-a street light <br />on the corner of Chapin Street and Ewing. • <br />Yours respectfully, <br />(23 Signers) <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the petition be referred to the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To The Common Council of the City of South Bends <br />April 14, 1947 <br />Your Committee of The 'Whole, to whom was referred an Ordinance transferring monies from the General Fund tf <br />the City of South Bend and appropriating said sums for the'uses and purposes of the following budgetary items, <br />to -witz To P221, Electric Service, Police Department, $300.00; To K7.12,.Other Structures, $200.00; and <br />transferring monies from the Street and Traffic Fund to the following Budgetary Item, to -wit: To 5262, <br />Miscellaneous Surgical Supplies, declaring an emergency. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance shall be <br />reported to the Council as favor able. <br />William J. Richardson, Chairman <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the report -be accepted. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION: <br />To The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Ind. <br />Gentlemen: <br />April 4th, 1947. <br />Petition of John Rensberger, et. al., for change of ,zoning classification of lots-1,2,3„4,5,6,,7,8, <br />Mikesells Add. was considred iby the City Plan Commission, at their regular meeting April 3, 1947. <br />The petitioner filed with the City Plan Commission an amendment to the petition asking that the charge <br />be made only for lots #1 and #2, Mikesells. <br />The change asked for in this petition is not recommended by the City Plan Commission. <br />Returned herewith are remonstrances as filed against the orkkinal petition and the amended petition. <br />D.
