<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Regular Session
<br />in the Council Chembers, City Hall, October 14th, 1946, at 8 :50 P.M., with all members present. President
<br />Korpal presided. The reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
<br />COMMUNICATIONS
<br />A.:..comaaun cation fronr?au1 Y ::LaMar, Secretary- Treasurer, of the South Bend- Mishawaka Association of
<br />Insurance Agents, dated October 12th, 1946, enclosing a resolution passed by the Association a:t their
<br />June meeting, supporting the Model'Fire Ordinance prepared I by the- Committee of the Association of
<br />Commerce and which proposed ordinance is now before the City Council, was read.
<br />Councilman Heideman made a motion that the letter be answered stating that the Council will give it their
<br />consideration. Councilman Bishop seconded themotion. Motion carried.
<br />PETS ITION
<br />We, the undersigned, hereby petition the Northern Indiana Transit Company for a more complete and extensive
<br />bus service in the west side district of the City of South Bend, on Koseiuszko Street and West Ford.

<br />Your Committee of the T&ole, to whom was referred an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2331 (Lots 184 and
<br />185) Second Plat of Park Place Addition- S.E. Corner Eddy and Chalfant)
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance shall, be
<br />reported to the Council as favorable.
<br />Councilman Brannan made a motion that the report be accepted.

<br />and property and providing for the issuance of permits providing for inspection and for rules and
<br />regulations governing all places of assembly; providing penalties for violations; and repealing all
<br />ordinances in conflict herewith.
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance shall: be
<br />reported to'rthe Council-favorable as amended.
<br />Councilman Brannan made a motion that the report be accepted.

<br />Petition of Lottie Niedbalski, et al., for change of -zoning classification of property on Harris St.,
<br />from B Residence District to' "C0 -Commerical district,was considered by the CitykPlan Commiaikon, at
<br />a Special meeting, October 9, 1946:
<br />This property is more accurately described as the property on both sides of Fisher St., from
<br />Harris St., West to the first alley.
<br />The City Plan Commission recommends this change and it further recommends that the Height and Area District
<br />be changed at the same time from "A" to "D" to conform with that of other property in the vicinity.

<br />Attached hereto is a copy of a recommendation from Mr.-Qualls concerning the installation of a street light
<br />at the inerseetion of Ostemo Place and Iroquois Street, which the Board has approved and ordered installed.
<br />Also attached is a copy of a letter from Crumpacker, May, Carlisle and Beamer, which, we believe is
<br />self - explanatory.
<br />A petition was received with forty -eight signatures, asking for the instllation of street lights:on Meade
<br />Street from Western Avenue to Colfax Avenuef This was referred to Mr. Qualls for investigation and repor
