439 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 8th, 1946 -Contd <br />REPORT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC IORKS AND SAFETY <br />To The Honorable Common Council: <br />The enclosed reports for street lights were recommended by the Electrical Engineer and were <br />ordered in by the Board of Public Works and Safety.. <br />A 4000 lumen light, overhead construction, be installed at the intersection of Francis and Howard Streetst <br />A 4000 " it at Parkview and Woodlawn. <br />a 4000 It " , overhead construction, be installed at the intersection of Huey and Vassar. <br />Councilman Mirocha made a motion that the report be accepted. Seconded by Councilman Bishop. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING A POSITION OF ASSISTANT PLUMBING <br />INSPECTOR , APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THE SALARY OF AN <br />ASSISTANT PLUMBING INSPECTOR DURING THE BALANCE OF THE <br />BUDGETARY YEAR OF 1946: DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Bishop made a motion that it be set <br />for Public Hearing on July Und, 1946. Councilman Brannan seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3563 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT MADE AND ENTERED INTO <br />BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ACTING BY <br />AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, AND <br />SOLLITT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR WORK IN REPAIR AND <br />RENOVATION OF PORTIONS OF CENTRAL FIRE STATION, STATION <br />RTO. 7 AND STATION NO. 10. <br />The Ordinanee was given first and second reading. Councilman Richardson made a motion for suspension <br />of rules. Councilman McCarthy seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - <br />0 nays. The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />Councilman Mirocha made a m tin hat the Superintendent of the Park Board be notified to repair <br />that part of the River Road) hic nno <br />s gravel and that a report as to the action taken be given to <br />the Council at their next meting.
