Councilman dull made a <br />motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE STREET AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS FOR THE YEAR 1945 <br />The reading of the report of the Street and Sewer Departments, was waived. Councilman Bull made a <br />motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. SUN <br />The ordinance was given third reading and was passed by a roll call vote" of 7 ayes - 1 nay (Heideman) <br />1 absent (McCarthy) <br />Mayor Dempsey, gave an oral report on a meeting which he attended in Chicago recently, relative <br />to the Veterans housing Project. <br />Councilman Heideman made a motion that the City Attorney draw up a resolution to the effect that <br />the Council endorses a Veterans Clinic in South Bend. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. <br />Notion carried. <br />RESOLUTIO1: <br />A RESOLUTION ` -ITH REGARD TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF SOUTH BEND, BEIYG APPOINTED AGENTS FOR SAID <br />COMMON COUNCIL `'1'0 SECURE SUCH TEMPORARY HOUSING UNDER PROVISIONS OF SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 122 <br />9NACTED BY THE 79th CONGRESS ALSO SOMETIMLS REFERRED TO AS THE :MEAD BILL. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the Resolution be kept in the Council, Councilman Mirocha <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />I?ESOLU TION : <br />A RESOLUTION WITH REGARD TO THE HOUSING PROJECTS LOCATED IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, KNOWN <br />AS THE SOUTHMORE HEIGHTS, BEACON HEIGHTS, PRAIRIE HOMES AND B. G. SMITH HOMES, WHICH PROJECTS WERE <br />CONSTRUCTED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE LANHK ACT IN ORDER TO,PROVIDE <br />HOUSING FOR PERSONS ENGAGED IN NATIONAL DEFENSE .ACTIVITIES. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the Resolution be kept in the Council. Councilman Mirocha <br />seconded the motion.
