<br />THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND FOR THE CALENDER YEAR 1945, SAID
<br />ACCOUNT TO BE EWTITLED "POST WAR PLANNING, RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING"
<br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $159000.00
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading. Councilman Richardson made a motion that the Ordinance
<br />be held in the Council, and that the Board of Public 'Torks and iSafety, be notified that, the reason
<br />for it being held is in order to give local engineering firms an opportunity to submit plans and
<br />specifications on the Sewage Disposal, and that a copy of the minutes be sent to the Councilmen.
<br />Councilman Brannan seconded the motion. Motion was carried by a roll call vote of 6 ayes - 3 nays.

<br />71711EREAS by a series of Resolutions, and amendments thereto, the use of Eastern Standard Time has been
<br />established in South Bend, and
<br />'AH EREAS, certain conditions made it advisable to extend the period during which Eastern Standard Time was
<br />in force and effect, and
<br />MHEREAS, such extended use of Eastern Standard Time is no longer necessary.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
<br />Section 1. That the standard tip throughout said City, beginning with the hour of 2 :00 o'clock (Central
<br />Standard Time) on the morning of each last Sunday of each April of every year, and ending at the hour of
<br />2.00 o'clock A.M. Eastern Standard Time, each last Sunday of each September of every year, shall be that
<br />75th Meridian of Longitued West from Greenwich known as Eastern Standard Time.
