ORDINANCE NO. 3471' <br />AN ORTDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF ALL OF THE RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, IN AND TO ANY BONDS, COUPONS, AND/OR ASSESSMENTS HERETOFORE ISSUED UNDER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION <br />NO. 1687, APPROVES! JUNE 15, 1926, COVERING ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 2003, THE WASHINGTON AVENUE, FROM JACOB <br />STREET TO ESTHER STREET, ASPHALT PAVEMENT AND WATER TAPS. <br />The ordinance was given first and second reading. Upon motion of Councilman Bishop, seconded by Councilman Richards <br />the rules were suspended. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY * (Tractor, Mower, Truck and Coring Machine) <br />The ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Heideman made a motion that the ordinance be referred <br />to the Ways and Means Committee for investigation, said committee to report to the Council at the next meeting. <br />Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION (as amended) <br />RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE REPAIR OF RAILROAD CROSSINGS IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA._ <br />WHEREAS, the Members of the Common Council have been advised by many persons and by-their own investigation have <br />found that numerous railroad crossings are in a bad state of repair and without proper facilities for vehicular and <br />pedestrian traffic. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Section 1. That the railroads having lines passing through the City of South Bend be notified of the said condition <br />and di rected to take immediate steps to repair each and every such as lroad crossing immediately. <br />Section 2. The railroads be advised that unless such repairs are so made that all possible legal steps which the Cil <br />may take will be taken against them. <br />Section 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Division Superintendents and local freight agents of each <br />of the railroads having lines passing through the City of South Bend by the City Clerk. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and <br />have the approval by the Mayor. <br />The resolution was adopted on motion of Councilman Niezgodski, seconded by Councilman Korpal. <br />,City Attorney Levy made a report regarding the copy of a resolution from Hammond, Indiana, regarding the tax levy <br />for the Sanitary - "Districts, He referred to,Chap. 107 - Sec. 4 - Acts 1943, and stated the matter is not subject to <br />Council action. Councilman Richardson made a motion that the communication be placed on file with Resolutions and <br />brought to the attention of the Council thirty days before the next legislative meeting. Councilman McCarthy seconds <br />the motion.` Motion carried. <br />Councilman Richardson made a motion that the matter of an additional street light at the entrance .of the old Watch <br />Factory be placed in the Ways & Means Committee, said Committee to report at the next meeting.
