ORDINANCE NO. 3398 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE BY THE BOARD OF WATER WORKS TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE. WHEREAS, certain departments of the City of South Bend, Indiana, either now require or will soon require additional space for their efficient operation; and, WHEREAS, the Water Works of the City of South Bend will require additional space for its efficient operation; and WHEREAS, a certain piece of reat estate hereinafter described, is contiguous to property now owned by the City of South Bend and used by it as its City Hall; and, WHEREAS, it is possible for the Water Works of the City of South Bend to obtain such contiguous land at an advantag- eous prices NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, that: 1. The Board of Water Works Trustees of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is hereby authorized to purchase the real estate owned and described as - ALL OF LOT 8 OF THE ORIGINAL PLAT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, EXCEPTING THE NORTH 22 FEET THEREOF9 in accordance with the terms of a purchase agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and made apart hereof. 2. .This ordinance -shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and its a by the Mayor. The ordinance was given first and second reading. At this time the Mayor discussed the ordinance and rea$i the Contract. Councilman McCarthy made a motion for the suspension of the rules. Councilman N:Lezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a rolh1 call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays.
