Motion carried 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />Gentlemen: <br />July 17, 1940 <br />A delegation from the International Union, Trited Automobile ?'porkers of America, Studebaker Local A appeared before <br />the Board of Public Works and Safety at its re jula.r meeting July 8th, regarding busses loading and unloading passen- <br />gers in the inner lane of traffic. They had pre7iously sent the Board a copy of a resolution adopted at a recent <br />meeting. The matter was discussed and Mr. Beamer informed the delegation that the Traffic Engineer had been work- <br />ing on this matter for some time and they would be advised of any action to be taken. <br />At the regular' meeting of the Board of Public Norks and Safety July 15th, 1940, her. Miller, Traffic Engineer, report- <br />ed that the matter was being investigated. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE C01,21TITTEE OF THE ?sIiOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whomva.s referred an ordinance prohibiting the keeping of bees within the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the mattter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be held in <br />the Committee of the ? +thole and be given legal publication of public hearing to be held on August 12th. <br />Councilman Hull made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Pulaski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />II REPORT OT THE COMMITTEE OF THE %OLE <br />[To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred an ordinance establishing a firemen's pension fund and firemen's <br />pensions in accordance with Chap. 31 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Indiana 80th sessions, 1937. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported to <br />Council favorably. <br />Councilman Pulaski made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Brannon seconded the motion. Motion carri- <br />ed. <br />REPORT OF C011MITTEI, ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected <br />the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct.
