This motion lost. <br />After a discussion about ash wagons and private garbage dealers, Councilman McCarthy made a motion that the Health <br />Board be instructed to communicate with various restaurants and hotels and that they be advised to have their <br />garbage carriers give adequate protection to the citizens by using every reasonable precaution. Councilman Bishop <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Brannon made a motion that the Ways 8: Means Committee consider the possibility of a Civic Auditorium for <br />the City of South Bend and this Committee to see if anything can be worked out with the Board of Aorks and Safety <br />and the Mayor.
