REGULAR MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 27th, 1937 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the regular session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday evening, September 27th, 19379 at the hour of 7 :45 P. M. All members were present except Councilmen Goetz and James. President Fish presided. Councilman Rasmussen moved to dispense with the.reading of the minutes fors he last meeting.. Councilman Bierwagen seconded the motion. Motion curried. CERTIFICATION OF POSTING NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS In the 14atter Determining additional Appropriations for extra funds for General Supplies in the Police Department; for Gasoline in the Cemetery Department; for the Special Judge account in th City Judge's Office. September 14, 1937 To: The City Clerk From: The United States Conference of Mayors Subject: Annual Conference of united States Conference of Mayor s Dear Sir: The Executive Committee of the United States Conference of Mayors has directed me to extend to the members of the City Council, through you, a cordial invitation to attend the Annual Confer- ence of the United States Conference of Mayors. The 1937 Conference will be held in Washington on November 15 -17. At this time when so many common problems face the larger cities, it is urgent that effective interchange of information and experience covering municipal affairs take place. The annual Conference serves es a. medium for such interchange between the important cities of the country. Among the major problems to be considered in November are those of Relief, Cities end Industrial Disputes, Housing and the Municipal Airport Problem. Outstanding Federal officials are on the program and there will be ample time for discussifn. No city can afford not to be represented If it is to keep abreast of delelopments, especially on the various Federal programs affecting the cities. On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Conference, I ask that you submit this official invitation to the City Council in order that plans may be made at this time to attend.
