REGULAR MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />AUGUST 9th, 1937 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the-City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the <br />regular session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday evening, August 9th, 1937, at <br />the hour of 7 :45 P. M. All members were present except Councilman Goetz. President Fish pres- <br />iaed. Councilman Hull moved to disperse with the reading of the minutes for the last few meet- <br />ings. Councilman Chambers meconded the motion. Ordinance adopted Ps amended. <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3222 <br />An Ordirarfce appropriating Two'Thousend. Dollars ($2,000.00) from the Generel Fund of the <br />City of South Bend to vArious Departments under the Board of Public Safety-, One Thousand Dollars <br />01,000.00) of the same for new signs for the police department, Five Hundred Dollars 0500.00) <br />for additi&nal supplies for the•Police Department and Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for xredicaal <br />and Surgicpl expenses for the Fire Department. r <br />The Ord.in nce was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on <br />motion of Councilman Chambers wqs. referred to the Ccmmittee- of the Whole end also that a public <br />hearing be held-on August 23rd, 1937. Motion carried- <br />ORDINANCE NO. 322 <br />Ord.inrnce rpproprieting monies for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Firemen'! <br />Pension Fund of the City Government of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year be- <br />ginning January 1, 1938, and ending December 31, 1939, including all outstanding claims and <br />obligations, and fixing a time when the same shall take effect. <br />The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on <br />motion of Councilmen Chambers was referred to the Committee of the Whole end also that s public <br />hearing be held on .August 23rd, 1937. Councilman Hull seconded the motion. Mlotion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3224 <br />An Ordinance appropriating monies for the purose of defraying the expenses of the Police - <br />ment's Pension Fund of the pity Government of the Eity of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal <br />ye^r beginning January 1, 1938, end ending December 31, 1938, including all outstanding claims <br />end obligations end fixing a time when the same shall take effect. <br />The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on <br />motion of Councilman Chambers was referred to the Committee of the Whole and also that a r.ublic <br />hearing be held on August 23rd., 1937. Councilman Hull seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDI'"Ai�CE N0. 3225 <br />An Ordinance appropriating monies for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the City <br />Plan Commission of the pity of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year beginning, January 1, <br />1938, end ending December 31, 1939, including all contractual obligations and fixing e time when <br />the same shall take effect. <br />The Ordinance was given -its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on <br />motion of Councilman Null was referred to the Committee of the Whole and also that a public <br />hearing be held on August 23rd, 1937. Councilman Kerner seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE N0. - 3226 <br />A4 Ordinance appropriating moneys for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Park <br />Department of the `ity Government of the City of South Bend,-Indiana, for the fiscal year begin- <br />ning January 1, 193 .5, and ending December 31, 1938-, including all outstanding claims and obliga- <br />tions, and fixing a time when the same shell. take effect. <br />The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full end on <br />motion of Councilman Chambers was referred to the Committee of the Whole and also that a public <br />hearing be held on August 23rd, 1937.
