REGULAR MEETING JUNE 14th, 1937

<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of Sa.;th Bend, Indiana met in the
<br />regular session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday evening, June 14th, 1937, at
<br />the hour of 7 :46 P. M. All members were present. President Fish presided. Council :greed to
<br />dispense with the reading of the minutes for the last meeting.
<br />CERTIFICATION OF POSTING NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS
<br />In the Matter Determining Additional Appropriations for extra funds for the rurchase of four
<br />new tires for the flusher of the Street Department; also for the employment of special judges
<br />for the balance of the year 1937.

<br />copy of the ettached notice was published in the South Bend Tribune and the South Bend News -
<br />Times, two daily newspapers, on the 4th and the 11th day of June, 1937, both published in the
<br />City of South Bend, Indiana, also that I have posted notices in the following places: to -wit:

<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred An Ordinance appropriating the sum of
<br />Three Hundred Sixty Dollars ($360.00) to account I -7, the same being the account for Tires BmA
<br />Tubes for the Street Department, for the purchase of four (4) new tires for the flusher of the
<br />Street Department.
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion should be re-
<br />ported favorable. Geo. W. Goetz, cheirman.
<br />The report was accepted by the Council And ordered to be placed on file. Motion carried.

<br />Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for the SpeciAl Judge Account under the Office of City Judge.
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion should be re-
<br />ported favorable. Geo. W. Goetz, chairmen.
<br />The report wes accepted by the Council and ordered to be pleced on file. Motion carried.

<br />A petition hevino been filed bti the proper .legal officials of-the City of South Bend St.
<br />Joseph County, Indiana, in the matter of additional appropriations in the amount of 41,750.00.
<br />and;
<br />This matter having been set for hearing on June 2nd, 1937, at 10:00 A.M., report having been
<br />made, and all the facts having been carefully considered, this board does now affirm said
<br />additional appropriations in an amount not to exceed the sum of 01,000.00, from the General
<br />Fund of the City of South Bend to the Electrical Depertrr;ent, for the installation of new -traf-
<br />fic lights on North Michigan st Angella and North Shore Drive.
<br />The sum of $750.00 for salaries for vacations of Electriopl.employees, is hereby denied.

<br />Councilman Chamber, moved that the State Tax Board make an explanation as to appropriations
<br />that are denied. Councilman Rasmussen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
