OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO MAKE CERTAIN
<br />TRANSFERS OF MONEY AND PROPERTY UNDER CERTAIN CONTINGENCIES
<br />HEREINAFTER SET FORTH,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the 'City of South Bend, that: '
<br />WHEREAS, there is now pending in the Common Council of the'City of South Bend and ordinance
<br />appropriating money for the purchase of a new automobile for the Board of Public Heelth for the
<br />use of a new Milk Inspector, end
<br />WHEREAS, it is the belief of this Council that the funds for said automobile should be Prplied
<br />to the purchase of a new car for the Police Department in the event said ordinance is duly pass-
<br />ed and approved by the State Tax Board, end
<br />WHEREAS, it is the sense of this body that the Board of Public Safety should.turn over unto the
<br />Board of Health in 'Lieu thereof an automobile suitable for the use of said new Milk Inspector.
<br />It is the sense of this body that in the event this ordinance appropriating the money'for the
<br />new car is pessed by this body and is approved by the State Board of Tax Commissioners, thus per
<br />ipttting. the use of said money for the purposes described in ssid.ordinance, that the Board of
<br />Public Health relinquish their rights to said money, when thus received, upoh. the receipt by,
<br />them from the Board of Public Safety of the possession and title of an.a..utomobile suitable to
<br />said Board of Public Health for the use of said Milk Inspector, and that said funds so released
<br />shell be released to the Board of Public Safety end may be used by them for the purchase of an
<br />automobile for the Police Department of the City of South Bend, and to consummate the purposes,
<br />and idea of the Common Council in making this transfer, the Board of Health shall purchase the
<br />automobile and transfer the tttle thereof immediately to the Board of Public Safety, and the
<br />Board of Public Safety shall transfer title of the Police Car to the Boerdof Public Heel.th for
<br />the purposes hereinbefore expressed.
<br />And this .Common Council by this Resolution binds itself that it will approve and ratify the
<br />acti.ons'of the Board of Public Safety end the Board of Public Health in carrying out the intent
<br />of this Resolution by the necessary approving ordinance, when submitted, by the proper official
<br />bodies.

<br />An Ordinance smending section 13 of Ordirr.nce #2682 with particular reference to the part
<br />setting forth the fees to be paid by dealers In the production of milk or cream.
<br />.The Ordinance wee given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on motion
<br />of.Councilmsn Goetz was moved to be tabled. Councilmen Hull seconded the motion. Motion carried

<br />An Ordinance eppropriating the sum of three thousand dollars from the General Fund of the
<br />(City of South Bend to account under the Board of Public Works for repair of fire stet ons, this
<br />sum being the amount necessary to meet the bids of the.proposed improvement to #2 fire station
<br />in excess of the ninety -five hundred dollars appropriated in the 1937 budget.
<br />-The Ordi.ninee was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on motion
<br />of Councilman Chambers was referred to the Committee of the Whole and also that a public hearing
<br />be held March 8th, 1937. Councilmen Kerner seconded the motion. Motion cerried.

<br />RESOLUTIk` ,,ANENT MAYOR GEORGE W. FREYERMUTH'S PARK PLAN
<br />WHEREAS, the local Press recently printed a. news item to the effect that Mayor George W.
<br />reyermuth of South Bend, Indiana, made public a letter in which he recommends to the Board of
<br />ark Commissioners the accomplishment, within P period of five years, the following objectives,
<br />o wit:
<br />1. Provide adequate recreation parks and pleygrouds in all sections of the city;
<br />P. Provide playgrounds for pupils of ell schools not provided for by the school city;
<br />3. Provide bathing beaches, pools end ice - skating rings for each section of the city;
<br />4. Provide entertainment such Ps music, lectures end displays at the various parks at
<br />stated times, taking advantage of the services that can be given by the electrical
<br />snd other departments of the city;
<br />AND WHEREAS, the objectives just recounted afford, it would seem, a primary- purpose for the
<br />aintaining of P municipal park board anywhere;
<br />AND WHEREAS, these objectives ss recommended by ?Mayor George W. Freyermuth ere quite compre-
<br />ensive, and eminently and refreshingly fair to all tax- pryers;
<br />THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED th^t the Polish - .American Central Civic Committee of South Bend,

<br />pprovnl of Mayor George W. Freyermuth's recommendations to'the Board of Perk Commissioners Ps
<br />bove set forth;
<br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said.Centiel Civic Committee does hereby so make known and
<br />xpress its unreserved approveir©f Ma-yor:Freyermuth's park recommendations, as also, does hereby
<br />ive a vote of complete confidence to the effect that Mayor Freyermuth, in so far as will be with -
<br />n. his power, will. pursue his perk recommendations to their full reolization within the period
<br />tst ed;
<br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED.that said Central Civic, Committee looks hopefully to a hearty
<br />ndorsement of Mayor Freyermuth's perk recommendations by all city departments in any way concern -
<br />d thereiri, and tYpt these departments will cooperate efficiently in bringing about the a.tta.in-
<br />ent of the objectives of these recommendations;
