Your petitioners would -Further represent to your Honorable Body that they are owners in <br />.fee simple to property adjoining to the North and also to the East of the tract herein described. <br />Your petitioners would further sh ,)w to your Honorable Body thet at the time of the platting <br />of this parti.culer tract, the original owners and parties hereto, dedicated for the use of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, a strip of land 16 feet wide running East' and West from Sheridan <br />Avenue to Chicago Street and. separating Lots 4 and 18 from the North and Lots 1, 2, 3, 19, 20, <br />tnd ?1 from the South, for an alley; that ever since the said dedication of said alley to the <br />City of South Bend, the said alley was not used for the purpose of ingress or egress -as a private <br />e.r public alley. <br />Your petitioners further shove to your Honorable Body that a petitiohr has been presented to <br />the Board of Public Works of the City of .South Bend, Indiana., for the vacation of said alley in <br />order that said tract can be had in its entirety and not in any manner separated. <br />Wherefore your petitioners ask and pray that the said entire tract consisting of Lots, 19 <br />2, 3, 4, 5, 16, 17., 1S, 19, 20 and 21 inclusive, together with the above described 16 foot alley <br />seppreting the lost hereinbefore mentioned, be changed and rezoned from an "A" Residential, <br />Height end Area District, to "C "Commercial, Height and Area District. <br />Respectfully submitted. <br />John C. Motion carried. <br />ORDrNANCE NO. 3181 <br />An Ordinance appropriating monies for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the several <br />departments of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year bDeginning January 1, 1937, <br />and ending December 31, 1937, including ell contractual obligations and fixing a time when the <br />same shall take'?effect. <br />Councilman Chambers moved for reading of ordinance by title only. Councilman Hull seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Hull moved said ordinance be referred to the Committee of the "hole and also that <br />a Public Hearing be held August 24th, 1936.
