Your petitioners would -Further represent to your Honorable Body that they are owners in .fee simple to property adjoining to the North and also to the East of the tract herein described. Your petitioners would further sh ,)w to your Honorable Body thet at the time of the platting of this parti.culer tract, the original owners and parties hereto, dedicated for the use of the City of South Bend, Indiana, a strip of land 16 feet wide running East' and West from Sheridan Avenue to Chicago Street and. separating Lots 4 and 18 from the North and Lots 1, 2, 3, 19, 20, tnd ?1 from the South, for an alley; that ever since the said dedication of said alley to the City of South Bend, the said alley was not used for the purpose of ingress or egress -as a private e.r public alley. Your petitioners further shove to your Honorable Body that a petitiohr has been presented to the Board of Public Works of the City of .South Bend, Indiana., for the vacation of said alley in order that said tract can be had in its entirety and not in any manner separated. Wherefore your petitioners ask and pray that the said entire tract consisting of Lots, 19 2, 3, 4, 5, 16, 17., 1S, 19, 20 and 21 inclusive, together with the above described 16 foot alley seppreting the lost hereinbefore mentioned, be changed and rezoned from an "A" Residential, Height end Area District, to "C "Commercial, Height and Area District. ORDINANCE N0. 3179 An Ordinance approprieting certain sums from the maintenance fund or operating balance in the department of Public Parks in the City of South Bend, Indiana. to certain subdivisions in said depertment of Public Parks all as hereinafter set out. The Ordinance was given its third reading by title and was placed upon its psssage and pass ed by the following vote Hull, Goetz, Bierwage, James, Kerner, Chambers, Rasmussen and Palicki. ORDINANCE ,NO._ An Ordinance fixing selaries and wages of certain appointees and employees of the depart- ment of Public Parks of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and repealing all ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict therewith. Councilman Chambers moved for reading of ordinance by title only. Councilman Hull seconded the motion. Motion carried.
