And said clerk of said board is in- <br />structed to pay"over the proceeds from said sale over to the Treasurer of said City for the <br />crediting of same to the General Fund. of said city. And said Bill of Sale when so consummated., <br />shall be attested by the City Clerk, and with the seal of se id city. <br />The terms and. conditions of the s-1e shall be published iii two newspapers of general circulation <br />in the City 'of South Bend, Indiana. <br />SECTION 11. CHAMBERS. <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />WHEREAS, the last codification of City Ordinances of the City of South Bend., was prepared <br />in 1916, and, <br />WHEREAS, it is almost - impossible to determine what amendments or additional ordinances or <br />repeels have been made, relative to any subject matter by the Common Council of South Bend, <br />subsequent to 1916, other than by an extreordinary amount of searching,-and, <br />WHEREAS, an examination of ordinances in effect under the codification made in 1916, may <br />disclose many that are obsolete and are not enforceable: <br />.THERE70RE BE IT RESOLVED that the Committee on Ordinances of the Common Council of South <br />Bend, together with the City Attorney, m2ke an examinatinn and codification of all ordinances <br />now in effect and make reco-;menda..tions to this Common Council of any ordinances, which, in thei <br />.opinion, should bd:,reneeled, amended or otherwise chenged, for the benefit of public health, <br />safety, economy end general efficiency. <br />Howard L. CHAMBERS. <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />WHEREAS, an examination of the Annual Reports of the Citv Comptroller of South Fiend for <br />the years 1926 to 1934 inclusive, discloses that there has been a failure upon the part'of a, <br />numtxer of businesses to pay any - l-ic.ense fee, which are believed to be subject to annual license <br />fee, according to Fees in Force per Codification of Ordinances as of 1916, and, <br />WHEREAS the City of South Bend is in dire need.of additional funds; and, <br />WHERF'AS these businesses which are believed not to have paid annual license fees, are <br />subject to inspection and other special expense due to the nature of their business. <br />THER.EFORF BE IT RESOLVED that this Common Council instruct the Committee on Fees and- <br />Salaries to make Pn investigption and examination of the fees which should have been collected <br />by the City, from such businesses according to ordinances now in force, and make report of thei <br />findings to the Common Council. <br />Howard L.
