<br />and creating a fund in account No.1-12 for the said purpose. •.

<br />Bend to the Department of Public Streets, account #1 -12 for the purpose of opening Elmer
<br />Street North of Marquette Avenue, and taking out gravel from said street, the same being F. E.
<br />R. A. project No.FB -1, and creafing a fund in said account fo the said project. •
<br />The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on
<br />Motion of Councilman, Bierwegen the Rules were suspended by the following vote: Hull, Goetz,
<br />Bierregen, Kerner, Fish, Rasmussen, Chambers, and Palicki; Ayes S, Nays 0. Rules suspended
<br />and Ordinance goes to third reading.

<br />South Bend Avenue, taking out grovel and gravelling the street; the same being F. E. R. A.
<br />project #42 -B -4, and creating a fund in said account for thet purpose.

<br />for` said project.

<br />were passed under suspension of rules:

<br />Dear Sir:
<br />There are some factors perteining to the F. E. R. A. work program in Portage township, which
<br />I wish to discuss -with you, as they are of vital ii*portance to the continuation of work poo-
<br />ject.s in your city.
<br />As you are well aware, the initiation-.of a local work project does not originate in our office •
<br />It is sponsored by some certain d- vision of the local government in the form of a request for
<br />Federal Aid covering the labor to perform desireble work.
<br />With that request the local government agrees, upon the approval of the project, to cooperate n
<br />the prosecution of the work. B cooperation is meant -- the furnishing of the required msteria s
<br />equipment, small tools and supefvision.
