ORDINANCE NO. 3098 An Ordinance appropriating the sum of $731.00 from the General Fund of the City of south Bend, Indiana to the Department 66 Public Streets for the purpose of grading of North Huey street from Lethrope Street South Three Blocks, the same being F. E. R. A. project #34 -2 -B and creating a fund in account No.1-12 for the said purpose. •. The ordinance was given its -first reading fy title, its second reading in-full and on Lotion of Councilman Resmussen the Rules were suspended by the following vote: Hull, Chambers.' ORDINANCE No. 3099 An Ordinance appropriating the sum of $521.00 from the General Fund of the dijy of South Bend to the Department of Public Streets, account #1 -12 for the purpose of opening Elmer Street North of Marquette Avenue, and taking out gravel from said street, the same being F. E. R. A. project No.FB -1, and creafing a fund in said account fo the said project. • The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman, Bierwegen the Rules were suspended by the following vote: Hull, Goetz, Bierregen, Kerner, Fish, Rasmussen, Chambers, and Palicki; Ayes S, Nays 0. Rules suspended and Ordinance goes to third reading. The ordinande was given its third.reading by title, and was placed upon its passage and passed by the following vote: Hull, Goetz, Biersragen, Kerner, Fish, Rasmussen, Chambers, and Palicki, Ayes 8, Nays 0. ORDINANCE N0. 3101 An Ordinance appropriating the sum of $798.00 from the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indians to the Department -of Public Streets, Account #1 -12, for the purpose of cutting the Twyckenham Drive to the grade on that portion of that Street between Bader Avenue and South Bend Avenue, taking out grovel and gravelling the street; the same being F. E. R. A. project #42 -B -4, and creating a fund in said account for thet purpose. E. R. A. project #3 -2 -F4, and creating a fund in said account for` said project. Freyermuth, Mayor of the City of South Bend, South Bend, Indiana. Dear Sir: There are some factors perteining to the F. E. R. A. work program in Portage township, which I wish to discuss -with you, as they are of vital ii*portance to the continuation of work poo- ject.s in your city. As you are well aware, the initiation-.of a local work project does not originate in our office • It is sponsored by some certain d- vision of the local government in the form of a request for Federal Aid covering the labor to perform desireble work. With that request the local government agrees, upon the approval of the project, to cooperate n the prosecution of the work. B cooperation is meant -- the furnishing of the required msteria s equipment, small tools and supefvision. (Continued on Page 291)
