To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred A Petition signed by employees of the Street Department requesting an increase of Salary. Contract entered into in:Triplicate by and between the Municipal City of South Bend, by and throe its Board of Public Works, First Party, and James H. Pierce Second Party. Respectfully report that they.have examined the matter andthat in their opinion the said Ordinance should be reported disaproved by a Report of a Special Committee and that the said'Ordinance be reported Unfavorable. To the Common Council of the City of South Bend : Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred An Ordinance Transferring the sum of Seventy - -five Dollars from Account B -11A Refunds, Awards and Indemnities, to Account B -14 Premium on Officials Bondst Also the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00),from B-11A Refunds, Awards and Indemnities, to account B-11, Office Supplies all in the Department of Finance of the City of South Bend, Indiana. An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1769 adopted March -22, 1915, Prohibiting the carrying on of the Business of Junk Dealer in the City of South Bend, Indiana without a License. The_Ordinance was.given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman Cripe was_ - referred to the Committee of the Whole. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO An Ordinance amending Ordinance Number 2902 approved by the.Mayor October 29, 1929, and (Ordinance Number 3059, approved by the Mayor June 7, 193+ Releating to Plumbing.' The Ordinance was given its first reading by title,`its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman Hiss was referred to the Committee of the Whole. Motion carried. RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN GEO. W. 60ETZ0 WHEREAS, the Supreme Rules of the Universe has called to his reward Ernest a former member of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, and WHEREAS, the deceased has spent practically all his life in the City, where hes�waa known and loved by many of his friends and where he was prominent in matters pertaining to Civic Welfare. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,- that we deeply regret the passing of the deceased and extend to his bereaved family the condolence of this Council, and further be it resolved that a copy of thin Resolution beveertified by the City Clerk and be sent to the members of the family of they eceased. Ox Councilman Goetz makes a Motion to adopt said solution was standing vote of the - Council. Notion carried. MOTION. City of South Bend, Indiana, Common Council. I move that the City Clerk be requested to write the Public Service Commission to give a report as soon as possible on their findings and decision on Gas rates which are to apply to:the users in South Bend, based on hearings held during the past eighteen (18) Months.
