<br />-WHEREAS; Delbert So Thompson wastrfor a number of years, a member of th6 Police Department
<br />of the City°6f South Bend, Indiana, and during this. time rendered faithful and efficient.
<br />service in the proptection of lives and property of•people in this city* and
<br />WHEREAS, on the 26th day of May, 1933, officer Thompson was killed in line of duty im
<br />making an arrest of a law violator.'
<br />THEREFORE BE-IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNO IL of the City of South Bend,,
<br />Indiana, assembled as committee of the whole that the valient services of off9icer Delbert So
<br />Thompson be gratefully remembered by the members of this Council and that their condolence, be
<br />forwarded to the bereaved family of the deceased.
<br />Be it further resolved that this resolution be adopted by the Common Council and spread
<br />upon its records*
<br />On May 5th, 1933 at the Committee of the Whole Meeting the laxii above Resolution was read and
<br />on Motion of Councilman Goetz the said Resolution was adopted by a rising vote of'the membera
<br />of the Common Council.

<br />WHEREAS, Charles Farkas was, for a number of yearst-a member of the Police Department
<br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and during this, time rendered,-faithful.and efficient service
<br />in the protection of lives and property of people in this city; and,
<br />-WHEREAS, on the morning of the 27th day of May., 1933.,, officer Farkas was killed in line of
<br />duty in apprehending the murderer of Patrplmen., Delbert So Thompson**
<br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-BY THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL of the citylof South Bend,
<br />Indiana, assembled as a:committee of the whole, that the valient services of officer Farkas be.
<br />gratefully remembered by the members of-thisicounoil and that their condolence be forwarded

<br />WHEREAS, on the morning of May 27-, 1933, officer Daniel A. Martin behaved himself with
<br />utmost valor and courage and was wounded in a gun duel with an outlaw who had just previously
<br />killed officers Delbert- So". Thompson and Charles Farkas*
<br />THEREFORE,-BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, assembled as a committee of the whole, that -the-brxavery of said officer-Martin be
<br />highly commended and that the sympathy of -this Council be extended to him for the wound sustaine
<br />in the gun duel whereby ie became necessary for hi* totake the life of the outlaw*
<br />Be it resolved that this resolution be adopted by the Common ' Council and spread upon its
<br />records and that a copy,.of same be presented to officer Daniel As Martin*
<br />On May-5th, 1933 at the Committee of the Whole Meeting the above Resolution was read and on
<br />motion of Mat Councilman Altfeld the said Resolution was adopted
