The total amount of the grant was $5,799, <br />to be paid to the City by NEH in two installments. The first <br />installment was received by the City and appropriated by the <br />City Council in January of this _year. The second installment, <br />in the amount of $2,899.50, has now been received from NEH <br />and I am requesting that the Council adopt an ordinance ap- <br />propriating these funds to be used for the completion of this <br />grant project. <br />Specifically, these funds are being used for consultant ex- <br />penses, including a half -time research assistant for six <br />months, research trips by staff members and other expenses <br />relating to the purposes of the grant. <br />Should you have any questions regarding this grant, I will <br />be happy to answer them. <br />Sincerel <br />et ullen <br />Controller <br />
