4612 Communication from South Bend Civic Planning Association (Continued) That the office of Field Worker in the F.E.P.C. and Human Relations Office be eliminated. We recognize that the police and firemen salaries are not a part of this ordinance but we have already recommended to the Mayor a $300.00 salary increase for them. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. Time: 10:10 Reconvened: 10:40 P.M. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the recommendations : of the Fees and Salaries Committee be further amended as follows: Administrative Assistant $10,248 President of Council 480 Project Engineer 9,504 Superintendent of Oper. 10,008 Supt. Waste Water Treat. 10,008 Manager, Sanitation 7,800 Asst. Supt. Parks 8,508 Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried, 5 ayes, (Councilmen Hunter, Geib, Laven, Palmer and Smith) 4 nays (Councilmen Allen, Szymkowiak, Wise and Muszynski). Councilman Geib then made a motion that the Report be accepted and the Ordinance go to the Council favorable, as amended. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried, 5 ayes, (Councilman Hunter, Palmer, Laven, Smith and Geib), 4 nays :(Councilmen Allen, Szymkowiak, Wise and Muszynski). There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Geib made a motion to rise and report to the Council. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
