ET�NG Apr_ l 10, 1967 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council Chambers of <br />City Hall in Regular Session on Monday, April 10, 1967 at 8 :10 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was <br />called to order by President John L. Hunter, Jr., who presided. Reverend Donald Guertin, Christ the King Church, <br />gave the Invocation. <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, <br />Szymkowiak, Laven, Smith and Muszynski <br />ABSENT: None <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would respectfully report that they have <br />examined the minutes of the preveious meeting of the Council and found them correct. Palmer <br />Meeting of March 13, 1967 <br />There being no objections; the report was accepted as read and placed on file. <br />REPORT OF AREA PLAN COMMISSION <br />March 22, 1967 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached ordinance to zone "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District <br />approximately 40 acres located on the East side of York Road k mile South of Jackson <br />Road was legally advertised under date of March 11 and 18 and given public hearing <br />on March 21,, 1967. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration it was moved, seconded and <br />unanimously carried that the ordinance be recommended <br />favorably to the Common Council. <br />The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission are hereby attached and made a part of this report. <br />Very truly yours, <br />/s/ John K. Wilson <br />Executive Director <br />There being no objections, the report was accepted as read, and placed on file. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, <br />AS AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702, <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, AS AMENDED (Location: East side of York <br />Rd 1237.25 feet South of the center line of <br />Jackson Rd. and commonly known as Southeast <br />Estates. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Smith made a motion <br />that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on April 24, 1967. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried, 8 ayes, (Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven, Smith and Muszynski) 1 nay,(Council- <br />man Palmer). <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THAT AGENCIES, <br />ADMINISTRATIVE BODIES, AND COMMISSIONS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND HOLD THEIR <br />PUBLIC MEETINGS IN TAX SUPPORTED BUILDINGS OR <br />IN BUILDING SPACE WHICH THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND HAS LEASED FOR CONDUCTING OF ITS <br />OFFICIAL BUSINESS. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title, President Hunter then recognized Councilman Allen who made_a mot <br />that the Ordinance be withdrawn at this time with a letter to be directed to the Human Relations Fair Employment <br />Practices Commission advising that they hold any future meetings'at their office, and that these meetings be <br />publicly announced, giving the time and place. Councilman Geib seconded the motion.. Motion carried. <br />
