<br />BY THE WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />FOR PURCHASE OF WATER METERS FROM THE NEPTUNE METER
<br />COMPANY DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 1967.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Smith made a motion
<br />for suspension of rules. Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion defeated by a roll call vote of
<br />7 ayes (Councilmen Hunter, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Smith and Muszynski) 2 nays (Councilmen Allen
<br />and Laven). Councilman Geib made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing'on February 27,1967.
<br />Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />METER COMPANY DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 1967.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Laven made a
<br />motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on February 27, 1967. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded
<br />the motion. Motion carried 8 ayes,(Councilmen Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven, Smith and
<br />Muszynski), 1 nay (Councilman Hunter).

<br />MANUFACTURING COMPANY DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 1967.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion
<br />that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on February 27, 1967. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the
<br />motion. Motion carried, 7 ayes (Councilmen Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven and Muszynski)
<br />2 nays (Councilmen Hunter and Smith).

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE WATER WORKS
<br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND STEVENS CO. - DIVISION
<br />OF ASHLAND OIL AND REFINING CO. FOR PURCHASE OF A SUPPLY OF
<br />LIQUID CHLORINE FOR USE FROM FEBRUARY 7, 1967 . TO FEBRUARY 7,
<br />1968 IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,859.00
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion
<br />for suspension of rules. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. Howard Goodhew, Water
<br />Works Superintendent spoke in favor of the Ordinance. The Ordinance was given third reading and passed
<br />by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven, Smith
<br />and Muszynski) 0 nays. Mr. Goodhew called attention to the fact that the title of the Ordinance should
<br />have been worded "March 7, 1967 to March 7, 1968" instead of "February 7, 1967 and February 7, 1968"

<br />$62,506.94.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion
<br />that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on February 27, 1967. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion.
