REGULAR MEETING
<br />JANUARY 23, 1967
<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the Council Chambers
<br />of City Hall in Regular Session, Monday, January 23, 1967 at 8:00 P.M. The meeting was called.to order
<br />by President John L. Hunter, Jr., who presided. All of the members were present.
<br />President Hunter introduced Reverend Kenneth Folk, All Saints Evangelical United Bretheren Church, who gave
<br />the invocation.
<br />Councilman Geib made a motion that the agenda be amended to include another ordinance titled "AN ORDINANCE
<br />FIXING THE ANNUAL SALARIES, PAYABLE FROM THE GENERAL FUND, FOR OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO BE
<br />ELECTED FOR THE TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1968 AND FIXING THE TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT ". (This
<br />was in addition to another ordinance pertaining to salaries already appearing on the agenda. ).
<br />Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried, 6 ayes ( Councilmen Hunter, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Laven,
<br />and Muszynski) 3 nays (Councilmen Allen, Smith and Szymkowiak),,O absent.

<br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES
<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would respectfully report that they have
<br />examined the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend
<br />that the same be approved.

<br />January 18, 1967
<br />The Honorable Common Council

<br />South Bend, Indiana
<br />Gentlemen:
<br />The attached rezoning petition of the Light Company, Inc. was legally advertised under date of
<br />January 7, 1967 and January 14, 1967 and given public hearing on January 17, 1967. The following
<br />action was taken:
<br />After due consideration it was moved, seconded and unanimously
<br />carried that the ordinance and site development plan be
<br />recommended favorably to the Common Council.
<br />The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points considered in arriving at the above
<br />decision are shown in the excerpts of the minutes attached hereto and made a part of this report.

<br />REQUEST AND APPLICATION OF NORTHERN INDIANA
<br />TRANSIT, INC. TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />TO THE HONORABLE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
<br />WHEREAS, the Acts of the Indiana General Assembly, 1965, authorizes and permits cities having a population
<br />of less than 350,000 to render assistance to existing transit systems or in the alternative to acquire such
<br />systems under the conditions contained in said Act and,
