5 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING AUGUST 8, 1966 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of <br />the Whole in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, August 8, 1966 at 8 :00 P.M., with all <br />members present except Councilman Wise. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, <br />who presided. Chairman Smith introduced Reverend Earl Harber of St. Matthews Co- Cathedral, who gave <br />the invocation. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO <br />ACCOUNT F -213, "TRAVELING EXPENSES ", IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $600.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM ACCOUNT <br />F -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL ", ALL BEING IN THE GENERAL <br />FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor and explaining the need for the <br />appropriation, was John L. Hunter, President of the Common Council. Councilman Hunter made a motion <br />that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM <br />THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000.00 TO <br />ACCOUNT K -223, "HEAT ". <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor and explaining the Ordinance, was <br />Mr. A. E. Tovey, Manager of the Morris Civic Auditorium. Councilman Geib made a motion that the Ordinance <br />go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $500.00 FROM THE GENERAL <br />FUND TO ACCOUNT NO. L -252 (REPAIRS OF EQUIPMENT) IN <br />THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Lloyd Taylor, <br />City Engineer. Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Council- <br />man Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
