COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />JUNE 27, 1966 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, June 27, 1966 at 8 :00 P.M., with all members present except <br />Councilmen Geib and Museynski. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, who presided. <br />Councilman Smith introduced Reverend 0. L. Powell, who gave the Invocation. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE <br />OF REAL ESTATE NOW OWNED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. This hearing was continued from the meeting of June 13, 1966. <br />Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Laven seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9 -3 <br />(30), AND CHAPTER 11, SECTION 11 -3 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962 <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents. were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr-Forrest West, Building <br />Cor=issioner Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. <br />Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO <br />ACCOUNT 363, "OTHER OFFICE SUPPLIES ", IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $150 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM <br />ACCOUNT 213 "TRAVELING EXPENSES" ALL BEING IN <br />THE FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES COMMISSION FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Palmer made a motion that the Ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO <br />THE BUILDING, DEMOLITION, REPAIR AND CONTINGENT <br />FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,000.00 AND THE TRANSFER <br />OF SAME FROM THE GENERAL FUND. <br />s <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that'the Ordinance go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9 -3 OF <br />THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />1962 (ORDINANCE NO. 4381) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Forrest West, Building <br />"Commissioner and Mr. John K Wilson, Executive Director- Secretary of the Area Plan Commission. <br />Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
