j� 1 ul <br />REPORT OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE <br />Your Committee on Capital Improvements to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $233,000.00 OF THE <br />CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR VARIOUS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable; with the recommendation that co- operation of the County be sought to alleviate the <br />Clyde Creek drainage problem. <br />/s/ Janet S. Allen, Chairman <br />Councilman Palmer made a motion that the report be accepted as read. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. <br />PETITION <br />Motion carried. <br />We, the undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petition the Common Council of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana to amend the zoning Ordinance of South Bend, Indiana, as hereinafter requested, and <br />in support of this application, the following facts are shown: <br />1. The property sought to be rezoned is located -at the Northeast corner of Ironwood and Colfax Avenue <br />2. The property is owned by Jerome Claeys and Evadna Claeys, Husband and Wife <br />3. A legal description of the property is as follows: <br />A tract or parcel of vacant ground at the Northeast corner of the intersection of <br />Colfax Avenue and Ironwood Drive, which measures approltimately 307.57 feet by 290.5 <br />feet.and described as follows: Lot 57 (except 123.59 feet af:?the entire South side <br />thereof) in Jefferson Heights Addition to the City of South Bend, as recorded April <br />7, 1913 in Plat Book 9, pages 144 -9 in the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph <br />County, State of Indiana. <br />4. It is desired and requested that the foregoing property be rezoned: <br />From A Residential Use and A Height and Area District <br />To B Residential Use and A Height and Area District <br />5. It is proposed that the property will be put to the following use and the following building will be <br />constructed. <br />Erection of a single floor Rehabilitation and Extended Care facility for hospital patient recuperation, <br />in accordance with the standards established under the Federal Medicare Program. <br />6. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, Indiana <br />Councilman Smith made a motion that the petition be referred to the Area Plan Commission. Councilman Muszynski <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF AREA PLAN COMMISSION <br />May 2, 1966 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached rezoning petition of The Light Company, Inc. was legally advertised under date of April 9, 1966 <br />and given public hearing on April 19, 1966. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration it was moved by Mr. Sharp, seconded by Mr. Miller and <br />unanimously carried that the petition and site development plan be recommended <br />unfavorably to the Common Council. <br />The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points considered in arriving at the above decision are <br />shown in the excerpts of the minutes attached hereto and made a part of this report. <br />Very truly yours, <br />/s/ John K.
