<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole
<br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, October 11, 1965 at 8 :00 P.M., with all members
<br />present except Councilman Glass. The meeting.'was called to order by Councilman Edwin Thomas Smith,
<br />Chairman, who presided.
<br />Councilman Smith introduced Reverend F. William Norris of Holy Cross Church,'who gave the devotions.
<br />Councilman Smith then welcomed a group of Notre Dame students, who were attending the meeting.
<br />RESOLUTION
<br />RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA: ADOPTION OF EXISTING MASTER PLAN AND ORDINANCES
<br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />Councilman Hunter moved that this resolution be set for public hearing on October 25, 1965, and that
<br />tt be given legal publication. Motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent, Councilman Glass.
<br />ORDINANCE
<br />AN ORDINANCE ZONING AN ANNEXED' TRACT NOW WITHIN AND A
<br />PART OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />(Location: Southeast corner of Portage and Kinyon Sts,)
<br />Due to the fact that legal advertisement was not given this ordinance prior to the meeting, a public
<br />hearing could not be held at this time. Because remonstrators from this area were attending the
<br />meeting at this time, Councilman Smith turned the meeting into an inf6rmal hearing. Speaking Against
<br />the ordinance were Ralph Michaels, 1700 Portage, Richard Miller, 1310 Kinyon, Clem Hull, 1320 Marquette,
<br />James Keller, 1815 Sheridan, Hagen Brough, 1413 Kessler and Gladys Burkus, 1707 Portage.
<br />Councilman Geib thanked the people for attending the meeting and expressed regret that legal
<br />public hearing could not be held at this time. He urged them to return on October 25.
<br />Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance be publicized and set for Public Hearing on
<br />October 25, 1965. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />ORDINANCE
<br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Location: 159 acres, more
<br />or less bounded on the North by the present city limits, on the
<br />East by Ironwood Rd., on the West by the east line of Crest Manor
<br />Sub. Sec. 3, and on the South by the half section line of Section 31.
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
<br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Codnci:lmaa.:Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the
<br />Council as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded 'the motion. Motion carried

<br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />(Lots numbered 10,11 and 12 in John E. Walz' revised
<br />addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana.)
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents
<br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking for the ordinance was Wilford Walz, attorney
<br />for John E. Walz. Councilman Wise made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable.
<br />Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 3702. (Location: Rectangular
<br />parcel of land on east side of York Road
<br />commencing approximately 370 feet south of
<br />Jackson Rd.
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents
<br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go
<br />to the Council as favorable. Councilman Huszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE
<br />NO. 3702 (Location: 29.84 acres, more or less, bounded
<br />on the east, north and south by present c*ty limits, on
<br />the west by Maple Rd., and lying between Cleveland Rd
<br />and Lathrop.)
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents
<br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Wise made a motion that the ordinance go to
<br />the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
