REGULAR MEETING MARCH 8TH, 1965
<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Regular Session in the
<br />Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, March 8, 1965, at 8 :00 P.M., with all members present. The
<br />Meeting was called to order by President John L. Hunter Jr., who.presided.
<br />President Hunter introduced the Reverend Clifford 0. Nantz, Executive Secretary of Council of Churches of St.
<br />Joseph County, who gave the invocation.
<br />ROLL CALL
<br />PRESENT: Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib,
<br />Szymkowiak, Glass, Smith and Muszynski.
<br />ABSENT: None.
<br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES
<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have
<br />inspected the minutes of the previous meetings of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend
<br />that the same be approved.

<br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded
<br />the motion. Motion carried.
<br />COMMUNICATION
<br />Communication from William J. Richardson, Jr., President of the First District Democratic and Civic Association
<br />opposing the removal of Fire Station No. 6 from its present location on Portage Avenue.
<br />Councilman Geib made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Szymkowiak
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />PETITION
<br />Petition of William E. and Marilyn Dvorak and Richard E. Landgraf to rezone Southeast corner of Rinyon and
<br />Porga* Ave. from "B" Residential Use District and "B" Height and Area District to "C" Use District and "B"
<br />Height and Area District.
<br />Councilman Wise made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Palmer
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />PETITION
<br />Petition of Oxford DeveiopmentCorporation to rezone tract of land bounded on the North by Darden Road, on the
<br />East by Riverside Drive, on the South by North boundary of Riverside Manor 2nd Addition from "A" Residential
<br />Use District to "A -2" Residential Use District.
<br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman
<br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />Petition of John H. and Maude A. Mink, et al, to rezone Southeast corner of Miami St. and Lincoln Way East,
<br />excluding gasoline station on corner, from "B" Residence District to "C" Commercial District.
<br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Allen
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />PETITION
<br />Petition of Joseph M. and Tina A. Zappia to rezone three lots immediately West of "Capri" Restaurant located at
<br />2104 Edison Road from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial District.
<br />Councilman Allen made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Palmer
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried.
