�!8 REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 24 1964 REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend February 18, 1964 South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of the Belleville Investment Company, Inc. to zone "B" Residential Use and Area District a tract of land being generally described as extending along the south right -of -way Washington Street from Summit Drive to Lombardy was legally advertised under date of January 27, public hearing on February 6, 1964. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would tend to create a buffer between the commercial property to the south and the school and homes to the north. It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L. Hamilton to rezone from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District the property being generally described as south of Lathrop Street, west of Johnson Street and east of Huey Street was legally advertised under date of' January 27, 1964 and given public hearing on February 6, 1964. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed change is in the best interest of the area. ORDINANCE, THIRD READING AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN REAL PROPERTY BECAUSE OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN4 , OR ANCESTRY BY CERTAIN OWNERS, SELLERS, RENTERS, LESSORS, GRANTORS, LESSEES, GRANTEES, ASSIGNEES, MIMGING AGENTS, REAL ESTATE BROKERS, REAL ESTATE SALESMEN, LENDERS, AND OTHERS, PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE SOUTH BEND FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE COMMISSION, PRESCRIBING ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND POWERS, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES. The ordinance was given third reading and lost,by a roll call vote of 0 ayes - 9 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4628 - -- 64 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO, 4459 -62 BEING AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman,Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. Councilman Smith made a motion for a three minute recess. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried and Council recessed at 8:40 P.M. The Regular Meeting of the Council reconvened at 8 :43 P.M. ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 (Kendall, Kemble, Indiana and Calvert) The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on March 9th, 1964. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
