REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />To Members of the Common Council <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />RE: Coal Dust Complaint <br />April 8, 1963 <br />The matter of the coal dust complaint, transmitted to the Board of Public Works and Safety by the Common Council <br />through the City Clerk, was acted upon by the Board of Public Works & Safety at its regular meeting on April 8, <br />1963. <br />The following action has been taken: <br />An affidavit, prepared by the City Attorney's Office, has been signed by one of the residents in the affected area, <br />a warrant has been issued by the City Clerk's Office and service of same has been accepted by an officer of the <br />Rose Coal & Fuel Company. The case has been set for April 11, 1963 in City Court. <br />ES <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />/s/ Anthony J. Sabo <br />Anthony J. Sabo, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works & Safety <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ANNUAL REPORT OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT <br />All Councilmen have copies of the Annual Report of the Sewage Treatment Plant. Councilman Lehman made a motion that <br />the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4381 - - -61, AND COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, Respectfully report that they have examined the matt <br />and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. <br />/s/ T. W. LEHMAN, Chairman <br />April 8, 1963 <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Lehman seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. . <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4569 - - -63 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4381 - - -61, AND COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />April 8, 1963 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend, <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of Crest Manor Corporation to zone "A" Residential and "At1 Height and Area District the <br />recently annexed land being generally described as a tract of land situated in the north half of Section 31, T37N, <br />R3E, south of Jackson Road between Miami Road and Ironwood Drive and being bounded on the north and east by the <br />present city limits was legally advertised under date of March 25, 1963 and given public hearing on April 4, 1963. <br />The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the requested zoning would be the best zoning <br />for the subject property. It was therefore duly moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the <br />petition be recommended favorably to the Council. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />/s/ Robert L.
