Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Regular Session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, December 10, 1962,.at 8:34 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided,. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson, Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski. ABSENT: None. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Lehman South Bend, Inc., December 10, 1962 Minutes of Meeting of November 26, 1962 Councilman Lehman made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. PETITION Petition to annex 37.8 acres of land East of Miami and South of Jackson Road. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Coleman. seconded the motion. Motion carried. COMMUNICATION The Clerk read a communication from Gust Koucouthakis, who operates a Shoe Repair Shop at 736 South Michigan Street, in which he requested an adjustment of parking signs which now permit 2 hour parking in front of his establishment. The matter had been referred to the Traffic Engineer immediately upon its receipt in the Clerk's office. Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer reported that he had investigated the request and that he interviewed Mr. Koucouthakis and that sign brackets are being made and immediate installation will follow. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the communication and report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried. COMMUNICATION A communication from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People reference Redevelopment Plans for Project Indiana R -29, Chapin Street, was read by the Clerk. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. COMMUNICATION A communication from the Citizens Fair Housing Committee of South Bend and Mishawaka was read. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY Common Council South Bend, Indiana REF: Complaint, 825 E. Jefferson Referred to Board of Public Works and Safety December 10, 1962 The owner of the above property was contacted and the source of the complaint was removed on the following days; Sincerely, /s/ Anthony J. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 3913, (AS AMENDED) (ELECTRICAL' INSPECTION), Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. /s/ T.
