COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 1960 Be it rememberd that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, September 27, 1960, with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. The meeting convened at 6:10 P.M. C.S.T. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND ON THE 14th DAY OF JUNE, 1949, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (2254 Portage Avenue) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, comes now Russell Fisher, Attorney € or petitioners, and requests permission to withdraw the petition and Ordinance. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Committee of the Whole recommend favorably to the Council that the petition be withdrawn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (119 S. Scott and 710 West Washington) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, Councilman Krueper made a:motion that the public hearing by continued until October 10, 1960. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND ON THE 14th DAY OF JUNE, 1949, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (E. Jefferson and 32nd Street) This being the time set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, said hearing having been continued from August 8, to September 12 and then to this date, the Chairman announced that he would entertain a motion for disposition of this matter in the Committee of the Whole. Councilman Allen made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (3605 East McKinley) The Public hearing on the above Ordinance.. having been continued from September 12th, Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried but Councilman Krueper voted against the motion. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Real Estate involved located on Portage Ave., (700 block) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given in opportunity to be heard. Louis Anderson, Attorney for petitioners spoke. Mr. Robert Huff, Director- Secretary of the City Planning Commission was heard. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the hearing be continued in the Committee of the Whole until the nekt meeting of the Council, October'10 1960. .Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carried.
