AUGUST 30, 1960 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council <br />Chambers on Tuesday, August 30, 1960, at 7:36 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by <br />President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided. <br />The Clerk read the call for the Special Meeting, as follows: <br />STATE OF INDIANA <br />SS: CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING <br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY <br />To the President and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Gentlemen: <br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the Authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of <br />South Bend,. in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet <br />in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall at the Hour of 7:30 P.M., on Tuesday, August 30, 1960, for the purpose of <br />ACTING ON RESOLUTIONS TO BE PRESENTED BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH.BEND, INDIANA, <br />RELATIVE TO PROPOSED SITES FOR A LOW -RENT HOUSING PROJECT <br />The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice <br />on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service to said Special Meeting. <br />Dated this 25th day of August, 1960. <br />/s/ Edward F. Noble <br />City Clerk of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />The within call came to hand this 26th day of August, 1960, which I served by reading the same to each Councilman, <br />upon the date designated, as follows: <br />/s/ Harold L. Coleman /s/ Eugene Ladewski <br />/s/ Chester E. Muszynski /s/ Walter G. Glass <br />/s/ Joseph T. Kroll <br />/s/ Paul E. Krueper, Jr. <br />/s/ J. Chester Allen /s/ T. W. Lehman <br />and by leaving a certified copy of same at the last and usual place of residence of such members as I was unable to <br />find, as follows: <br />Albert Tellson <br />/s/ Ca t. 0. E. Harmon <br />' Member of the South Bend Police Department <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Call for Special Meeting be accepted and placed on file. Councilman <br />Lehman seconded the motion.. Motion carried. <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson, Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Mr. Jesse:Dickinson, local Director for the Public Housing Authority spoke to the Council. <br />Mayor Voorde was introduced and explained the necessity for this meeting was to act upon a site for public housing. <br />RESOLUTION <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SITE CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY TWENTY -SIX (26) <br />ACRES OF LAND LYING WEST OF IRONWOOD DRIVE BETWEEN THE ST. JOSEPH RIVER AND <br />LINCOLN WAY EAST IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF A LOW RENT HOUSING PROJECT CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY THREE HUNDRED FIFTY <br />(350) UNITS, BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, has heretofore entered into a Cooperation Agreement with The <br />
