REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 14, 1959 147 trash collection. The Committee felt that, while there was a definite need for the collection of trash and rubbish, a survey should be made to determine the cost of such Municipal service to the taxpayers. Inasmuch as it is unsanitary to leave bottles and cans partially filled with food lying about where they may attract rats, it was suggested that such containers should be placed in a metal drum. We know that trash and rubbish are a health problem and find that most other cities are as much concerned with this problem as we are. We will ask for a survey concerning costs of such Municipal trash and rubbish removal from the City Engineer. /s/ Albert Tellson /s/ Joseph T. Kroll / s / W:; A. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN FIRE DEPARTMENT AND CITY TREASURER IN AMOUNT OF $1870.00 AND TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT IN AMOUNT OF $1650.00 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Erler made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on September 28, 1959. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN AMOUNT OF $2,400.00 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on September 28, 1959. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried NEW BUSINESS Councilman Glass made a motion that the City Attorney look into the matter of meter readers for utility companies having emblems or badges with their pictures as identifying evidence of their authority to enter. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn.
