COMMUNICATION
August 21, 1959
Dear Mrs. Noble:
I have your letter of August 20, 1959, with the Resolution adopted by the Common Council of the City of South Bend
attached, concerning the recent Indiana State American Legion Convention held in South Bend.
To say the least, I am most humble in my appreciation of this action, but without folks like you and your good Mayor,
the Convention nould not have been the success it was.
Letters have come to me from all over the State of Indiana in which the writers have expressed their appreciation of
the hospitality of South Bend during the Convention. One sentence of the letter from Mr. Paul K. Jollif of Indiana-
polis reads: "Roy, the Convention this year, beyond all doubt, surpasses any Convention the Indiana Department has
ever held ", truly expresses the thought from most of the writers.
Again thanks to you, your Mayor, Members of the City Council and the good people of South Bend, I am deeply grateful.
Sincerely yours,
/s/ Roy M. Amos
