Councilman Carr, Chairman, <br />presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING LANDS TO AND DECLARING SAME TO BE <br />A PART OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(195.1 acres along Hickory Road between Edison and Hepler) <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Mr. Louis Anderson, Attorney, <br />spoke for the remonstrators and filed a petition bearing 47 signatures of land owners in the locality. He spoke <br />against the Ordinance. Also remonstrating were James Sloderbeck, 54765 Hickory Road; Walter A. Rice, Attorney, <br />Jack K. Davis, 17512 Bryan; Paul E. Gibbs, 17511 East Bryan. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinanance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE ANNEXING LANDS TO AND DECLARING SAME TO BE A <br />PART OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (1.4 acres along Rose Street) <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. James Bratina, the sole owner of <br />this tract of land, remonstrated against passage of the Ordinance. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />(REAL ESTATE INVOLVED LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF SOUTH <br />MICHIGAN STREET BETWEEN ECKMAN AND OAKSIDE STREET). <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Kroll made a motion <br />that the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee for further study. There was no second to the motion and <br />Councilman Kroll withdrew his motion. Remonstrating were Mrs. A. V. Rogers, 2711 South Michigan Street and R. M. <br />Kentz, 2913 South Michigan Street. Mr. Joseph G. Ettl, Attorney for petitioners spoke in favor of the Ordinance <br />Mr. Walter Rice, Attorney, spoke in favor of the Ordinance. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee for further study. <br />Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF BABY RABBITS, CHICKS, <br />GOSLINGS, DUCKLINGS OR OTHER FOWL FOR NON- POULTRY PURPOSES, <br />AS PLAYTHINGS, NOVELTIES OR FOR DECORATIVE PURPOSES. <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Christman made a motion <br />that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Korpal made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman Glass seconded the motion.
