20 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 24, 1958 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Regular session in the Council <br />Chambers, Monday, March 24, 1958, at 9:05 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by <br />President Stanley C. Korpal, who presided. <br />DM T /'AT T . <br />PRESENT: Councilmen - Korpal, Carr, Tellson, Christman, Kroll, Glass, Hahn, Erler and Muszynski. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />MINUTES: <br />Report of Committee on Minutes: <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would.respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Councilman Carr se(n nded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION: <br />Petition of Blenke Brothers to zone recently annexed land. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Muszynski <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />Petition of Housing Authority for authority to issue Bonds, Notes, Interim Certificates, Debentures or other <br />Evidences of Indebtedness. <br />Councilman Carr made a motion that the petition be set for Public Hearing on April 28, 1958. Councilman Kroll <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY: <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />March 24, 1958 <br />Refering to the directive dated March 10, 1958 from the Common Council pertaining to the removal of the bus from <br />Beacon Heights, I wish to submit the following: <br />A meeting was held between Mr. Anderson, Superintendent of Transportation for Northern Indiana Transit Company, and <br />myself pertaining to this problem. Mr. Anderson stated that statistics show that fewer people are riding the <br />buses on Saturday over this route necessitating the drastic cuts. This change was made in August, 1957. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE: <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING LANDS TO AND DECLARING SAME TO BE A PART OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND -, INDIANA (195.1 acres along Hickory Road between Edison Road and Hepler Street) Respectfully <br />report that they have examined th4 matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED Unfavorable. <br />/s /George W.
