<br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA AND INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER COM-
<br />PANY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE
<br />OF EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,887.65.
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Palmer
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Zielinski, that the ordinance be set for public hearing
<br />on January 25, 1971. Motion carried. 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 absent.

<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak, that the ordinance be set for public hearing

<br />DEERE MODEL JD301, 40 H.P. TRACTOR IN THE AMOUNT
<br />OF $2,591.55.

<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Craven, that the ordinance beset for public hearing on

<br />WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND GATES
<br />CHEVROLET, INCORPORATED OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR
<br />THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 1971 CHEVROLET VAN TRUCK IN
<br />THE AMOUNT OF $2,086.20.
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Szymkowiak
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Grounds, that the ordinance be set for public hearing on
<br />January 25, 1971. Motion carried. 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 absent.
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5261 -71
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER FEES
<br />AND FUNDS FOR THE YEAR 1971 TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC
<br />WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH THEREIN, IN ACCORD -
<br />ANCE WITH CHAPTER 208 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL
<br />ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA OF 1965.
<br />The'.:brdinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Reinke
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Palmer, for suspension of the rules. Motion carried by a
<br />roll call vote of 9 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise,
<br />Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 0 absent.
<br />A public hearing on the ordinance was held at this time and proponents and opponents were given
<br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. City Controller James A. Bickel explained the appropriation.
<br />He said it was the same ordinance as passed a year ago and that the salaries are in accordance
<br />with the Salaries adopted for 1971. This amount will pay for the cost of maintenance, operation,
<br />repair and all other incidental costs and expenses in the operation of mechanical parking devices
<br />for the year 1971.
<br />The Clerk proceeded with the third reading of the ordinance. Councilman Zielinski made a motion,
<br />seconded by Councilman Reinke, for passage of the ordinance. The ordinance passed by a roll call
<br />vote of 9 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and
<br />Zielinski) 0 nays, 0 absent.
