REGULAR MEETING MARCH 23, 1970 CITIZENS REQUESTS - MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS Mr. Anthony Wilhelm, 1218 N. Adams Street, South Bend, read the following notice: We, of the "St. Joseph County Support Your Local Police Committee would like for you to read the enclosed resolution and be able to act upon it favorably at your next Council Meeting. You will also find enclosed for your perusal, our Statement of Principles. Sincerely, /sf Marilyn Love Secretary - SYLP The Resolution was: Resolve that the South Bend Common Council designate the days of May 11 thru 17, 1970 as Support Your Local Police Week. Council - President Laven said the council has no authority to designate such observances. He said however, that the Councils actions show that they do support the local police and he stated that the Council does agree with the general tone of thus statement. REPORT FROM THE CITY CONTROLLER The report from the City Controller, James A. Bickel, was postponed until the meeting of April 13, 1970. (February, 1970 Report) REPORT FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION March 18, 1970 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of Robert R. and Dorothy Allen was legally advertised under date of February 7, 1 -970 and February 14, 1970.and given a public hearing on February 17, 1970. The following action was taken: After considerable discussion, it was moved seconded, and carried that the ordinance and site development plan be recommended favorably to the Common Council: 1. The developer obtaining approval of the proposed curb cut from the Technical Committee. 2. Submission of legal documentation, satisfactory to the Commission's attorney relative to the right of access to the property to the south and the relinquish- ment of the curb cut onto Miami. The above requirements have now been completed and approved. Attached hereto and made a part of this report is an excerpt from the minutes of the meeting. PETITIONS Petition to Amend Zoning Ordinance: I (We), the undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petitbn the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana to amend the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend as hereinafter requested, and'in support of this application, the following facts are shown: 1.
