REGULAR MEETING MARCH 23, 1970 <br />CITIZENS REQUESTS - MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS <br />Mr. Anthony Wilhelm, 1218 N. Adams Street, South Bend, read the following notice: <br />We, of the "St. Joseph County Support Your Local Police Committee would like for you <br />to read the enclosed resolution and be able to act upon it favorably at your next <br />Council Meeting. <br />You will also find enclosed for your perusal, our Statement of Principles. <br />Sincerely, <br />/sf Marilyn Love <br />Secretary - SYLP <br />The Resolution was: <br />Resolve that the South Bend Common Council designate the days of May 11 thru 17, <br />1970 as Support Your Local Police Week. <br />Council - President Laven said the council has no authority to designate such observances. He said <br />however, that the Councils actions show that they do support the local police and he stated that <br />the Council does agree with the general tone of thus statement. <br />REPORT FROM THE CITY CONTROLLER <br />The report from the City Controller, James A. Bickel, was postponed until the meeting of April <br />13, 1970. (February, 1970 Report) <br />REPORT FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION <br />March 18, 1970 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of Robert R. and Dorothy Allen was legally advertised under date of <br />February 7, 1 -970 and February 14, 1970.and given a public hearing on February 17, 1970. The <br />following action was taken: <br />After considerable discussion, it was moved seconded, and carried that the ordinance <br />and site development plan be recommended favorably to the Common Council: <br />1. The developer obtaining approval of the proposed curb cut from the Technical <br />Committee. <br />2.
