DECEMBER 8, 1969 <br />HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE FIRST COUNCIL MEETING (Cont'd.) <br />That milestone meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br />It was the first of tens and hundreds of sessions that were held in this very chamber. <br />Some of them were monumental in their impact on the history of this community. <br />Tonight, that long, memorable era in the annals of the City comes to a close. <br />The next meeting of the South Bend Common Council will be held in the new County -City <br />Building at 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. <br />HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE FIRST COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE SOUTH BEND CITY HALL <br />WAS PREPARED BY KATHRYN L.
