REGULAR MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council <br />Chambers in City Hall on Monday, August 251, 1969, All Council members were,present. The <br />meeting was called to order by President Robert 0. Laven, who presided. <br />anr.r. Onr.r. <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Laven, Allen, Craven, Grounds, <br />Szymkowiak, Wise, Zielinski, Reinke and <br />Palmer. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />REPORT FROM COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that <br />they have inspected the minutes of August 11, 1969 meeting of the Council and found them correct. <br />They therefore recommend that the same be approved. <br />/s/ Robert 0. Palmer <br />DPMTMTnMQ <br />Petition to amend Zoning Ordinance West of Miami Hills <br />East of Southmore Heights <br />Attorney: Jack Dunfee <br />We, the undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petition the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana to amend the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana as herein- <br />after requested, and in support of this application, the following facts are shown: <br />1. The property sought to be rezoned is located at an inland site bounded on the West <br />by the apartment buildings belonging to the Petitioner, on the East by the West line of Miami <br />Hills Addition to the City of South Bend, on the South by Erskine Park Golf Course, and on the <br />North by the South line of Crestview Addition to the City of South Bend; the access to said <br />parcel being by way of High Street South from Donmoyer Avenue and by Chippewa Avenue West from <br />Miami Street. <br />2. The property is owned by Southmore Mutual Housing Corp. <br />3. A legal description of the property is as follows: Commencing at a concrete monument <br />set at the Southwest corner of the Southeast quarter of Section 24, Township 37 North, Range 2 <br />East; thence North 1 degree 56 minutes West along the North -South center line of said Section <br />24 a distance of 1532.5 feet to a concrete monument; thence North 86 degrees 44 minutes East <br />a distance of 1,400 feet to a concrete monument and to the Place of Beginning; thence South <br />1 degree 39 minutes East, along the West boundary of Miami Hills Addition to the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, a distance of 2183 feet, more or less, to a concrete monument set in the Northerly <br />boundary of Erskine Park Municipal Golf Course; thence South 86 degrees 50 minutes West, along <br />the Northerly boundary of the said Golf Course, a distance of 431 feet, more or less; thence <br />North 1 degree 39 minutes West a distance of 1040 feet; thence'North 40 degrees 14 minutes East <br />a distance of 520 feet; thence North 1 degree 39 minutes West a distance of 275 feet; thence <br />North 29 degrees 26 minutes West a distance of 345 feet; thence North 1 degree 39 minutes West <br />a distance of 175 feet; thence North 86 degrees 44 minutes East a distance of 380 feet to the <br />Place of Beginning, containing 19.2 acres, more or less, in St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />4. It is desired and requested that the foregoing property be rezoned: <br />From A Residence Use and A Height and Area District <br />To B Residence Use and Height and Area District. <br />5. It is proposed that the property will be put to the following use and the following <br />buildings will be constructed: (Number of dwelling units if residental) 15 apartment <br />buildings with a total of 300 residential units (20 units per building) and consisting of 45 one <br />bedroom apartments, 180 two- bedroom apartments, 45 three- bedroom apartments and 30 four - bedroom <br />apartments. <br />
