Councilman Allen <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be referred to the Area Plan Commission and the Annexation <br />Committee for a report. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND <br />VARIOUS SUPPLIERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT TOTALING <br />$8,670.83. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Grounds <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing, March 10, 1969. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE WATER WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND VARIOUS SUPPLIERS <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT TOTALING $9,712.31. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak made the motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing, March 10, 1969. <br />Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 205 -69 <br />WHEREAS, GOD, in His Infinite Wisdom, has called from this life, MRS. <br />ELLA M. MORRIS, South Bend Civic Leader who gave .generously of <br />her time and resources to make South Bend a better place in which <br />to live and rear children <br />WHEREAS, her untimely death has brought much grief and sorrow to her bereaved <br />family and many friends. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the COMMON COUNCIL, <br />hereby extend to MRS. JUDD LEIGHTON, and MRS. OLIVER C. CARMICHAEL, JR. <br />daughters of MRS. ELLA M. MORRIS, and to the other members of the <br />family our sincere sympathy in this their deepest hour of sorrow; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a page be set aside in the Council Records in the <br />City of South Bend and this Resolution be copied thereon and a copy duly <br />certified by the Clerk be sent to Mrs. Judd Leighton and Mrs. Oliver C. <br />Carmichael, Jr., and other members of the family. <br />/s/ Mrs. Janet S.
