COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING FEBRUARY 24, 1969 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the <br />Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Monday, February 24, 1969, at <br />8:OO p.m., with all members present. The Invocation was given by Reverend Freeman A. Whetstone, <br />Stewart Memorial Baptist Church, 4849 Ford Street, South Bend, Indiana, The meeting was <br />called to order by Chairman William W. Grounds. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, AS <br />AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AND <br />THE ACCOMPANYING MAP THERETO, GENERALLY KNOWN AS <br />THE SOUTH BEND ZONING ORDINANCE. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman _Reinke_made.a'_motion <br />that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE <br />WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />AND STOCKBERGER MACHINERY, INCORPORATED OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE <br />(1) SULLAIR MODEL 150 -GP PORTABLE AIR COMPRES- <br />SOR IN THE SUM OF $3,101.00 <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. John Hunter, Superintendent of <br />the Water Works spoke in favor of the Ordinance and answered various questions directed to <br />him by the Councilmen. Councilman Palmer made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Zielinski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />0 <br />
